The prices are per room and day including a rich breakfast, plus the local tourist tax.

We rent out our holiday flat for 3 nights or more.

The rooms are available from 15:00 on the day of arrival and until 10:30 on the day of departure.

All rooms are equipped with shower or bath/WC, hairdryer, WLAN, flat screen TV, tablet and telephone.

Children up to 5.9 years are free in their parents’ room. Children from 6 – 11.9 years receive a 50% reduction.

Our rooms are equipped according to the strict standards of the Hotel and Restaurant Association as three-star rooms.
Our single beds have a lying surface of 90 x 200 cm and our double beds of 180 x 200 cm.
In addition to flat-screen TV including radio, tablet, telephone and desk, modern sanitary facilities with shower or bathtub and WC are standard. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. So you can still use your e-mails and the internet with your own devices in your room.

Find out how our Waldhotel Friedrichroda came into being.
The property is about 140 years old in its origins. It was a recreation home, a country youth centre, a military hospital and always changed hands (German, American, Russian and German again).
After the fall of communism in 1989, the house was still owned by the Weimar factory “Kombinat Fortschritt”. It was renamed and converted from the “Ernst Thälmann” holiday home to the “Im Grund” hotel.
On 1 June 1994, it became the property of Gerd Bloch & Matthias Kühmel. They founded the Bloch/Kühmel GbR. From 3 October 1994 to mid-March 1995, the hotel was renovated and modernised by the owners themselves.
Since November 2000, it has been in the sole possession of the Bloch family. Over the years, many things have been changed and rebuilt. Like the sauna area, the buffet room, the wheelchair accessible holiday flat and the car park.
On 1 July 2015, the daughter of the house, Peggy Bloch, took over the hotel under the following name: Waldhotel Friedrichroda
